Heres something i've been cobbling together for personal 'gratification'

Space Hulk patch for Alien Assault 1.1 gamecat666@hotmail.com _______________________ WHAT IS IT? Its a purely personal project, a patch that changes some of the Graphics in Alien Assault to look like Space Hulk. Other people have expressed an interest in it so I have shared it. I am not profiting from this in any way. Alien assault can be downloaded here: http://www.teardown.se/ _______________________ HOW TO INSTALL Unzip to your main Alien Assault directory. This will overwrite some main files so I recommend you create a fresh install and unzip it there, just so it doesnt break anything you currently have. It also contains some other tweaks that are my personal preference, so if you just want the graphics you will have to copy what you want individually. _______________________ WHAT HAS BEEN CHANGED? (newest first) VERSION 1.1 Blood Angels squad names are now specific to that squad only tweaked decal layouts so that the bulletholes arent outside the model. new squad added - 1 - Ultramarines Ultramarines have a unique names.txt (Roman names) GFX enemies.bmp - tweaked the shading on the Genestealers so they look less flat. Modified Patriarch and hybrids. Blood is less bright. VERSION 1.0 GFX enemies.bmp - stealers added. ingame Blips modified to a less busy green glow. (To see this you have to change the options - set 'Blip Visibility' to 'on scanner and on screen') ingame.bmp - KIA silhoette replaced with marine shape. Ingame map blips more obvious (green= player, red = stealers) menu.bmp = 1.0 menu graphics replaced with a couple of tweaks. SQUADS 0 - Blood angels layout.dat - various tweaks to the positioning of paperdoll layers. settings.txt - Squad name changed to Blood Angels. sprites.bmp - starting point - 1.0 gfx replaced. additionally: terminator image refined and modernised, lots of tweaks. assault cannon modified storm bolter modified chain fist (mod of AA one) storm shield added new addon replacements new medal replacements SOOUND marine weapons - chainfist attack replaced clear_Jam.ogg - SpacehulkSP version radar_item.ogg - spacehulkSP version DATA data/language.txt - weapon names changed to 40k equivalents. data/names.txt has been reverted to the 1.0 names. (its a shorter list, but more authentic) _______________________ _______________________ RECOMMENDED MODS Zamael's SH Voice pack. I vote for Deathwing next: they actually got a Space Hulk expansion and everything. Ultramarines didn't face off with tyranids until later.

![]() ![]() ![]() Impressive!! Two things, tweak down the brightness on the bionic eye. It pops a bit too much when it is so white/bright. And maybe move the AC 1-2 pixels right since it is cropped to the left. Or does it look good ingame? |

This looks AWESOME
,I've been playing for a while and the details are really cool,it really shows the level of customization the game has The only "missing" thing is aligning the scars and bullet holes,but like you said,it's minor tweaking. Nice job

Hey Dillinger77, thanks very much for making your work available to the community. I've downloaded youwrok and added it to a second set-up of Alien Assault and it works beautifully...fantastic work....it's very enjoyable

Noticed that your mods replace default/core AA files which is not how mods should be made. Sure it works this way but if people want to get back to play AA they now have to reinstall the game or at least copy the content that got replaced by your mod.
Put the modified menu graphics, sounds, ingame graphics in the squad's directory instead. Much better. |

Very nice work!
Can we have the White Scars next? If you do them, I'll hack the game to transfer Sgt Akriel from the old TDSH V1.0 :-) Just one but, I have to second Niklas: the mod should be squad-dependant, and not overwriting game files. |

yeah didnt realise it was that flexible originally, so i just went for a total conversion. I'll probably tidy it up and do everything selfcontained in a 'squad' soon.

I was giving your great mod a go earlier on and noticed something that I thought I'd mention in case you didn't already realise. The chainfist on the top down version of the Marines is still the Fusion Cutter from AA.

AWESOME work, mate... makes AA what it should be and brings back a tear of nostalgia for me! Plus: Ultramarines! The Chapter I used to collect/paint/play as a teenager during my brief 40k affair!

I hope Dillinger77 doesn't mind, but I recolored his marines and made a Deathwing squad. I used elements from pictures of miniatures, EASH1 (where I got the power sword), TDSH1.0, and Dillinger77's Blood Angels and Ultramarines. Here ya go:
