THIS POST IS ALSO THE LATEST POST (AS OF NOW) IN THE "MULTIPLAYER" THREAD.
BUT AS THE FORUM SEEMS TO BE DYING, I GAVE IT THIS THREAD TOO. THIS COULD SOLVE THAT ISSUE. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marine AI does not exist on any Space Hulk-themed game at all that I know of, nobody expects it. Multiplayer gaming is essential to community building. Create a LAN (for Virtual Player Network) or IP connect function where, with 2 people connected, one can play Marines and one can play Stealers. THEN, the key is to create a chatroom on your website where fans can congregate, chat, and when they feel like it, exchange host IP addresses as to play together. This is what they do for chess, for Virtual TableTop Games and everything else with community backing. This will make you STRONGER. Space Hulk-themed game which has such a multiplayer function: http://www.ojnk.net/nethulk/ You can see in their Forum that no such function was given, and the community died. They posted threads about AIM/MSN address lists. GIVE US A CHATROOM. GIVE US MULTIPLAYER Edit: I notice this forum is already dying. Sad. Implement my above suggested, please! |

I think that it will be better and easier just make Internet companies where every player could choose some mission and then try to complete it. It will be look like several squads completing they own missions, but all these missions will be proceed in one campaign. And if player's squad dying - others should complete harder missions or something like that.

![]() Almost every time I visit the forum there are about 15-20 guest visitors on the forum, here to grab custom content for the game or to grab information from the forum. But I think it is not more than fair to allow the forum to cool down a bit. And its not dying, it is hibernating...ready to strike again if or when the swarm is back...

I was hoping to release AA:L2D 30th September but I think that will have to be pushed since i have too much to do at work so I work during lunches too.

And we need to find a new pixel artist for it anyway. :/

Nice to have the feedback. But even though the singleplayer of AA seems to be (reading the 'Suggestions' forum section) very promising.
A very very basic LAN (can use Virtual Player Networks, e.g. Hamachi) or an IP connection option with the ability for a player to play genestealers, would add so much as there is currently no multiplayer whatsoever. I just think it's a key to holding a community together, who knows, perhaps an increase in activity would also rein in more donations, allowing you to use a bit more time for development. Multiplayer is a key element, and MARINE AI, is NOT available anywhere, nor expected. |

Very sorry, but my 6-paragraph crafted reply has been deleted by human error.
In brief: You don't at all need Marine AI, your competition doesn't have it and you're thinking that it would be in demand is wrong. Ultimately, it would be hoped for, but you cannot deny the importance of allowing this game have a Multiplayer aspect to it, Human Mind vs Human Mind. I love this organisation for its initiative in developing this game beyond my hopes in its singleplayer mode and directing this game to become a true computer game (rather than an automated board game). But the multiplayer is still desired, a very basic demand, and simpler to implement than you were arguing in the "Multiplayer" thread. |

Jorgen: AA:L2D is almost complete code wise. I think you are refering to AA2 - sequel to AA1.

What does it mean, and what's the difference between AA:L2D and AA2?

Alien Assault: Left To Die (AA:L2D) is a top down shooter which is the next game to be released by Teardown during Q3-4 (most likely 4) of this year. This game will continue the "story"
Alien Assault 2 (AA2) is the sequel to Alien Assault (AA1) and will be a turn based strategy game (just as AA1). This game is not yet in production. Last edited by Niklas; 08-11-2011 at 13:34. |

No worries, not easy to remember a game that only has its name and synopsis released to the public.

But if the game is about Alien Assault and comes from Teardown, I should have known better...

Maybe, if you like more than turn based strategy games.
