Default Tileset inspiration (Corridors galore!)

For all of you out there that like a bit of 'sci-fi corridor porn', there's a great article over at Den of Geek called 'In praise of the sci-fi corridor'.

Lots of nice pics of sci-fi corridors for tileset inspiration.

Great article, thanks for sharing - reminds me of that other movie cliche "don't go to the cellar/attic/haunted barn" - and yet they always do...

Do you know of any facilities for adding stairs/elevators/grav shafts in AA? Might ask as a general post...

Ah, an old thread brought back to life. Thank you Valfreyja! The first two images are very much pure love to me.

Make me miss Mr Curtis again.

If you just mean props pretending to be stairs, elevators (or w/e) - it's as simple as popping in a custom floor tile to your campaign's tileset. Tile 135 in Infestation tileset does this.
They can be used for things like R.A.T. deployment/retrieval points, starting or evacuation points for your troops and Swarm entry points, if you like (we used a stair tile for that in Infestation, in fact), but actual multi-level maps can't be done in the current engine.

Think I'm getting the hang of how it all works, as I understand, each game must fit within the Editor grid?
I thought i saw mention of a Teleport, or am I thinking of another game?

It does. You could simulate multiple floors connected by flights of stairs through a little trickery, though. It's all in the perception.

The troops can teleport out of the level ("escape") in evacuation missions, when standing on the exit squares. That's the only instance of it in Alien Assault.
