Banners

I am thinking about if it would be cool to add banners as an award to the marines.

Something like this:

It will be visible ingame, the cloth swaying in the air. We could also have it visible behind the marines in the debriefing and armoury. Not sure we can have it visible in the stats window, the space available there is pretty limited.

Maybe static all the time when not moving and only doing this swaying thing when marine is walking.

The hulks are kind of cramped. I find it rather unlikely for the Terminators to go in with three meter high banner poles stuck on their backs.

But sure, if we don't think it fits we don't have to do it. Just thought it would be the only thing that could "dress" the small marines since all we've added so far has only been for the large marine and the small ones look like they did back in V1.0.

Now when Curtis is back online I would love to see what he thinks of this, if he feels he could make the tiny banner sprite (even) cooler.

I like the idea of banners, even though they don't really fit in with a Hulk setting. The boardgame miniatures had them, so why not? (Although I do think cloaks are cooler!)

They'd have to have some special use though - more than one or two onscreen at a time would look a bit preposterous.

I like your version, Niklas. It is very hard to make something recognisable at such a scale.

It will only be on captains since you cannot see the cloaks ingame but they do look cool in the stats window.
