i think that is a easy way to engage in the game to people.
The achievements will be in a secction of the main menu, and will propose challenges. Many games have this, in particular i remember plants Vs zombies.
Is usually that a few are easy, but other can be very hards, to will be a challenge complete it. (We must go to a hulk for complete this specifically)By example:

-Complete a entire hulk whitout flamers.
To complet this achievements we have to change our tactic, understand?

Well, other possible :
-Complete all tecnological tree.
-Complete a hulk whitout dead men.
-A soldier whit cibernetic implat (this is easy XD)
- a large ect, ect.

What do you think men?:knowledge:

What do you get when completing an achievement? Some extra campaign points maybe.

Maybe, but usually complete achievements dont give nothing useful to the game mechanical. Give score points , medalls, trophies... BUT this is your game, you can create anything.

I dunno. I kinda like games that give me something for completing achievements, maybe a little bonus to the stuff that matters in the early game. The sort of thing that carries over all games. That way, after playing through a couple of campaigns, we'd be able to mow through the early game, which is typically quite slow in most games, to get to the real meat.

Let's not forget that there are several "types" of achievements used in gaming:
* Milestone achievements, where they simply indicate you reached a significant point in your progress. When used, there is several categories with multiple ranks to reach in each of them. Like killing 500, 1000, 5000 etc enemies.
* Bragging rights achievements, where simply getting to one takes serious effort and just having it is a reward in itself (bragging rights, duh). Like completing a campaign without losing a single trooper. OR COMPLETING THE ENTIRE GAME, ON HARD MODE, WITH ONLY MELEE WEAPONS.
* Collectable "badges" (see exploration badges in City of Heroes) which denote simple accomplishments that do not merit much celebration - like completing a particular mission (or campaign).
* Unlockable achievements - specific ingame bonuses attached to any of the above three types of achievements. Hm. Unlocking new equipment and upgrades?

The more I think of this the more I want a special section in the menu interface and a veeeeery long list of achievements (and an explaination to each what is needed to achieve it. Question is what they should be called? Alien Assault Achievement ("AAA")? :)

Great idea about the multiple variations by having different limits. Maybe even make each achievement tweakable so players can add new achievements for example an achievement "105 enemies killed by flamethrower in one single mission while no soldiers where killed".

Its a great idea, and extends the life of the game.
