GEAR
Special Forces Armor: Originally designed for special forces operations in which weight, battery power, and transportability are much more of an issue. It cannot take as many hits as standard armor but it gives more CP to compensate. (corresponds to veteran space marine armor)
Medkit & Dogtag Microchip Extractor: Although any marine can use it, it works best in the hands of a trained combat medic. When used on a marine who is beyond saving, it extracts the dogtag microchip that is implanted in every marine's body. (corresponds to Narthecium)
Advanced Tracking Device: This allows a squad to get more details on blips as they get closer, it works best in the hands of a trained technical marine (corresponds to Auspex)
Jaws of Life / Portable Winch: This is sometimes required for pickup & carry objectives, it works best when carried by technical marines (corresponds to Manipulator Mechadendrite)
Armored Power Lifter: The military is investigating all possible means of using this civilian/industrial tool as a weapons platform. Any marine who is qualified to operate it will absolutely refuse to go on normal missions ever again without it. (corresponds to Dreadnought)
WEAPONS
Advanced Assault Carbine: Although it does not pack as much punch as the standard weapon, it is capable of loading different kinds of ammunition, which increase accuracy or damage. (corresponds to standard Bolter)
Heavy "Hunter" Pistol: This sidearm packs a big punch, and can be wielded in conjunction with melee weapons. (corresponds to Bolt Pistol)
Belt-Fed Automatic Shotgun: Thanks to the proven success of shotguns on soft targets, this weapon was designed to do the same thing but better. Its usefulness against the new alien threats has yet to be determined. (corresponds to Heavy Bolter)
Anti-Materiel Rifle: It can pierce multiple enemies in a straight line, but is notoriously slow to fire since it is a bolt-action weapon. (corresponds to Lascannon)
Cylindrical Grenade Launcher: Although good at clearing out groups of enemies in a pinch, it also has limited ammunition. Nevertheless, it can fire more often than the flamethrower. (corresponds to hand/standard flamer)
Riot Baton: What the public doesn't know is that these have a "kill" setting. (corresponds to single lightning claw, or two-handed thunder hammer)
ENEMIES
Rebels: These are the people who the marines were originally supposed to fight before the aliens came along. They are generally ineffective in the close quarters of derelict ships, but they know this, so they employ lots of booby-traps and explosives. It is rumored that they have captured military factories and thus possess tanks and artillery. (corresponds to Imperial Guard)
Corporate Mercenaries: Corporations will do anything these days, all in the name of profit. They employ mercenaries who are filled with illegal drugs and cybernetic implants, and have implanted mind-control devices in dangerous animals. (corresponds to Chaos)
Space Pirates: These hooligans are not very accurate at either range or melee, but they are dangerous when they do hit! They seek to steal everything that isn't nailed down, and pull the nails out of the things that are nailed down. (corresponds to Orks)
Techno-Libertarians: Although most of them are harmless, there are always those few who are also members of violent anarchist organizations. They experiment with nanotechnology and mind-copying for deadly results. (corresponds to Eldar)
Sex Traffickers: Despite numerous attempts to eliminate this crime, it sadly remains a lucrative business as filthy-rich folks are willing to pay anything. (corresponds to Dark Eldar)
The Golden Dragon Syndicate: This crime family secretly runs Neo-China, and they will do anything to keep things that way. Although they possess sophisticated and accurate weapons, they are also weak in melee combat, thus they have to hire Private Military Companies to make up for their shortfalls. They also use cheap wheeled/tracked robots with mounted guns. (corresponds to Tau)
Project Apocalypse: It originally started as a research project to make computers better than humans at playing any kind of board game. The project suddenly disappeared, only to reappear later and call itself "Apocalypse." It is believed to be intelligent and capable of building self-repairing robots. (corresponds to Necrons)
