View Full Version : Full-Auto/Blip converted to 6 aliens bug

Genestealer Invasion campaign, Final Conflict:

I had a corridor with VC facing down it, could see one alien with unconverted blip behind it, followed by two closed doors and more blips beyond the doors. Perfect for a full auto shot....
But...
Fired full auto, killed first alien, then one behind it, revealed a third alien, but the VC stopped shooting. Didn't fire a shot at the third alien.

Checked the Log, showed:
Blip converted to 5 aliens
soldier (vulcan cannon) rolled 8
enemy killed
soldier (vulcan cannon) rolled 8
Blip converted to 6 aliens
enemy was killed
but no dice-rolls after that.

There was a closed door behind the blips, so AI could only convert two aliens in the space.

I have ingame.dat, progress.dat, squad folder from that moment and screenshot including Log if you want to have a look.

If you got the ingame.dat file from just before you fired it would be interesting, however I think it is fairly easy to reproduce the bug.

Do you have time to make a small test map and see if it is 100% reproducable?

Yeah, I could do a small map to see if it is reproducable sometime.

Hopefully it's a one-of bug, and won't happen again, I'll let you know how I get on with reproducing it.

OK, just done a simple test mission re-creating the turn where the bug apparently occured, set-up is basically a corridor with two doors, blips set to 5-6, placed close to the doors, one marine with VC moving into the coridor, mission objective 'survive 5 rounds'.

Reproduced the bug each time I played the mission. Slightly different to in the original mission I spotted it on, now I get to kill first 2 blips, shoot through the door, kill one alien behind door then VC stops firing. 2nd shot, kills remaining aliens from last converted blip, then stops again when next blip in line is converted. (Last alien is always killed before the VC stops shooting, so it isn't that the VC missed and then stops, but of course that happens sometimes)
