I just destroyed one of the red security type doors with a flamer, and I was under the impression that you couldn't destroy a door with a flamer. Is this a bug or have you changed this rule?

Normal Fire.
Only self destruction and malfunction will destroy doors. Have you tried to reproduce it? I've flamed hundreds of times next to doors without them being destroyed.

I'll see if I can get it to happen again and take a screen shot. I too have never bust a door flaming close to one until this afternoon.
Make sure you do it with a security door. But I looked at the code and first check is if it is self destuction or malfunction. If not the code will ignore all doors.

Well, I have tried and tried to get the flamer to destroy a security door again but have had no luck at all. That's probably a good thing though.
But something I did find was this

As you can see, an alien is not blocking LOS to the one to the side of it.

The LOS mechanics were, in order: nightmare, argument, headache, argument, headache... rinse and repeat. I think several times we changed something and then changed it back.
The alien does block LOF, and the soldier should be able to notice something there, so I'd say the current mechanic works.

OK, so it's not a bug, thanks.
It is a bug but it is not a "show stopper". There are other minor odd issues with the LOS but I think it works good enough for people to ignore the problem in a freeware game. :tongue:
