Hi, folks.
There were a lot of complaints about the difficulty of the Infestation campaign in v1.0. I've tried to adress them in v1.0.1, but I'm still not quite sure about the results.
Here's a version with further tweaks. If you want to help, please try it and tell me what you think about how the difficulty is now.

I really doubt I can go through the entire campaign in the near future.
I can do single missions if you want, any missions you're specially interested in?

The first three and Terminus, for the most part (but they're not the only ones changed)
FWIW, I really didn't find any problems with the first three missions to begin with, my technique of "run like crazy" with one guy and leaving the rest (if any) to cover each other in the main area usually gave me a zero casualty rate. Will try the revised Terminus though.
Edit: Ok, just redid the first 3 missions. No difference that I could see. Still working my way through to Terminus.
Edit 2: Finished Terminus on the first go. Quite easy now, in my opinion.
hmmm, does 1.021 has this tweaks?
In any case, I just did the "Biohazard" mission, and lol, what a farming mission ^_^. With only 'one' swarm entry point, with a long corridor in front? Target practice! weee:tongue:!
PS: why is this still sticky =)?

It includes this fix, yes.
Thread unstuck.
Talk about balancing campaigns:
the Infestation mission "Seal the Outpost" is fukkin UNpossible !!

O.o With experience bonus on, you should have one experienced squad to deploy on that mission.
The map can't be made easier without breaking the design (something we're not very keen on doing).
WurmD: Advance slowly! In the beginning make sure your soldiers help each other out to purge the inside of the outpost. If you do this you will eventually get a much smoother ride since the the spawning amount is less than your killing amount. I guess you should be able to kill around 5 enemies in the beginning each round and I think 1-3 are spawning. Also use the three VC guys with causion, one could open a locked door, another one shoot at enemies and then first one closes the door again. Do this until the area around their room has been cleared. Do not rush them out of the room.

This mission has deserved its own thread in the past ... it's *hard*, because the strategy to follow there is very non-usual:
- move slowly with your carabines in the first turns (that can be the first 10 turns, not the first 2).
- you have to clean the board of aliens using the weapons with unlimited ammo. Save the cannons for later, specially those 3 in the locked room.
- you can even take defensive positions in the two large rooms, and wait for them to com for you
- once the map feels "open", then you can split in the rescue squad in two groups, go for the lower entry points.
- at the same time, get out of the locked room with the cannons, go for the three top entries. These guys can take care of themselves (if they still have the ammo).
It's doable ... wait for the final mission, that one can get to your nerves too.
If you think these missions are hard you should have played Jorgen's first version of his Temple campaign. :scared:
