View Full Version : Possible to have different enemy graphics for each mission in campaign like tilesets?
Would this be possible? Like in one mission of a campaign you have just the default enemies and in the next mission of the same campaign they have a different colour? :)
Unfortunately, that is not possible.
Also, no, you can't have different tileset for each mission in a campaign.
Convince Niklas with a really good argument and he might add it.. I have no idea if the code allow it but it's worth a shot..
However it is possible to have different enemies in different campaigns.. that I am sure of.
Don't really see the point in having different enemies for each mission in a campaign. Why not make different campaigns?
Regarding the tiles you can have 200 different tiles in a campaign. We COULD actually increase that value even more. But you hardly need more than 20-40 tiles for a single mission. So if you optimize your tileset you can have 5-10 missions in a campaign all with totally uniqe tiles.
That's right, there is no need for extra tiles per mission. I just used this as an example - I didn't know it is actually not possible. I thought I saw some custom bmps in a custom mission/campaign ;)
To have different variations of creatures is also not overly important or an absolute must-have (really, all the must-haves are actually already in AA hehe x)). I just played around with the idea of having different (looking) creatures for my Star Quest mod, but it's really not that important. Or imagine a Alien Assault vs. Predator vs. Original Space Marines vs. Aliens with new enemies once in a while for specific missions xD But really, it's not overly important ;) Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me ^^

What you can't have is a complete different custom tileset for each individual mission.
But you can have a custom tileset for a campaign without any problem.
